This Workshop will be implemented on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 5 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies-Center for Marine Education and Research (IMMS-CMER) in Gulfport, MS.
During the one- and a half day Workshop, formal/informal educators will hear from experts on two of the following topics: ocean acidification, sea level rise, greenhouse gases, or ozone depletion. Educators will also participate in a hands-on activity following the presentations which they may choose to use in their classroom.
A $100 stipend is available to the first 20 registrants. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be offered; however, these CEU costs must be paid by the participant and/or his/her school district. Certificates of Participation will also be provided to each formal/informal educator. Participants will be required to respond to pre- and posttests and a Likert-scale evaluation for stipend eligibility and receipt.
